Business Licensing
Incorporation and Business Licensing Are Separate Steps
October 6, 2026
A Certificate of Incorporation creates the company, but the planned activity may require a separate licence or regulatory approval.
Incorporation establishes the company as a legal entity. It does not, by itself, confirm that every proposed activity may begin immediately in or from The Bahamas.
The company’s actual operations determine whether a Business Licence, sector-specific approval, tax registration, work authorization, or another permission is required. These items should be scoped during formation rather than after the company is ready to trade.
This briefing is general information, not legal, tax, financial, or investment advice. Requirements, fees, and timelines can change. Contact AMR to confirm the current position for your company.
