Company Formation
Registering a Company in The Bahamas: The Practical Sequence
October 6, 2026
From selecting a structure and reserving a name to due diligence, filing, licensing, and annual obligations.
A Bahamas company formation normally begins with selecting the appropriate entity and checking proposed names. The ownership and intended business activity affect the formation route, supporting documents, and obligations that follow.
Before filing, directors, shareholders, and beneficial owners complete due diligence. Constitutional documents are then prepared and filed with the Registrar General’s Department by the licensed corporate service provider. Once accepted, the Certificate of Incorporation and initial corporate records are issued.
Incorporation is only one stage. Business licensing, banking, registered services, annual fees, records, ownership updates, and applicable economic-substance requirements may also need attention.
